ALGIERS- The ministry of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel called for a strong participation of the Algerian community abroad in the upcoming legislatives of 4 May.
Invited at the national television’s “Hiwar Essaa” show, Messahel said that the Algerian community abroad has considerable potential and an important role to play in the development of the country,” hoping to “see it participate massively in the upcoming legislatives of 4 May and contribute to the process of decision making.”
The preparations for this rendez-vous are taking place normally at the level of the four areas (Arab Maghreb and Africa, France, Northern/Southern Europe and America) said the minister, adding that the embassies and consulates include nearly 2 millions registered voters.
“The novelty of these elections is the designation of members of the High Independent Authority of Election Monitoring (HIISE) for these areas,” said Messahel.
Messahel also called “to exercise more vigilance” taking into account the risks to the country” and “to be confident because Algeria is on the right track at the political, economic, cultural and even social level.”
