ALGIERS-An authorized diplomatic source stressed Monday in a statement to APS that "the alleged information relayed by press on a request made by Algeria for clarifications on the project on the partition of Libya, are unfounded."
In this regard, the same source stressed that "at no point Algeria requested information, as reported by the press, notably some newspapers that indulge in tendentious extrapolations, even reporting a request made by Algeria to the U.S. Department of State through diplomatic channels."
"At no point such information has been requested by Algeria. Besides, the US party has not referred to a Libya partition project," affirmed the source.
"In this connection, it is important to reiterate Algeria's constant stance in favour of a consensual political solution to the crisis in Libya, based on inclusive dialogue and national reconciliation without any foreign interference, which is the only alternative to preserve Libya's unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the cohesion of its people," said the diplomatic source, which also affirmed that "Algeria, being equidistant, enjoys the confidence of all the Libyan parties."
