French president's visit, scheduled for Wednesday 6 December, would be "an ordinary visit but what makes it special is the bilateral relations and the pending memory issues between the two countries," Zitouni told the National Radio forum.
"Algeria is expecting a lot from this visit given Macron's statements during his visit to Algeria as a candidate in the French presidential election," said the minister.
Macron's remarks on "the crimes against humanity" during his previous visit "were the strongest made by a French president," said Zitouni.
"Algeria would not build his future relations with France on the basis of statements but on concrete actions," stressed the minister.
"The two countries have made satisfactory progress in different fields, but the essential of these relations is the memory issues," he added.
