Algerian-Turkish relations have evolved markedly, says FM

ALGIERS- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Thursday in Algiers that relations between Turkey and Algeria have evolved markedly since last year's visit of Turkish Prime Minister to Algeria.

The volume of trade between the two countries has "exceeded $5billion" while Turkish investments in Algeria reached "two billion dollars," said Davutoglu in a statement to the press after his meeting with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

With these figures, Turkey has "become a major investor in Algeria," he recalled, expressing the desire to develop relations as the ties between the two countries are "secular"

The Turkish minister stressed that "the great merit" to developing relations between the two countries goes to President Bouteflika, welcoming the reforms initiated by Algeria, which knows, he has said, "total stability."
