ALGIERS-The National Space Agency (ASAL) on Monday offered a model of the first Algerian telecommunication satellite “Alcomsat-1”, launched recently from China, to President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika in recognition of his support and efforts for the development and promotion of the Algerian space programme.

ALGIERS- The works of the ceremony dedicated to the presentation of the Algerian space programme started Monday, at the International Conference Centre (CIC) in Algiers, in the presence of Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and several members of the government.

ALGIERS-The Alcomsat-1 satellite, launched into orbit by Chinese launcher Long March 3B, is equipped with 33 transponders, including 9 dedicated to the broadcasting of digital TV and radio, said the Algerian space agency (ASAL).

XICHANG (China) – The Algerian satellite Alcomsat-1 has been launched successfully into orbit on Sunday afternoon by the Chinese Long March 3B rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, in Sichuan Province (2,200Km southwest of Beijing).
