ALGIERS-President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika sent to his French counterpart François Hollande a message in which he "strongly condemned" the terrorist attack in France, reiterating Algeria's readiness for a "strong cooperation and solidarity" with the rest of the international community under the aegis of the United Nations to address the terrorism scourge.
"I learnt with deep indignation the ignoble terrorist attack in Paris, which killed a policeman and injured others, and which disturbed the tranquillity of citizens," President of the Republic wrote in his message.
"Algeria, which experienced the horror of barbarous terrorism, strongly condemns this attack that targeted, once again, your friendly country," stressed the President.
"In this tragic circumstance, I express on behalf of the Algerian people and government and on my behalf, our full solidarity with the brotherly country France, and offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim of this horrible act," stressed President Bouteflika.
"On this occasion, Algeria reiterates its readiness for a strong cooperation and solidarity with the rest of the international community under the aegis of the UN to address the terrorism scourge, an enemy of all civilizations and a strange phenomenon to Islam, a religion that advocates humanism, peace and concord," he stated.
