TUNIS (Tunisia)- Algerian-French documentaries "Samir in the Dust," by Mohamed Ouzine, and "Atlal," by Djamel Kerkar, will take part in the second "Young Mediterranean Cinema" event in Tunis (March 17-21), organizers said.
Algerian filmmakers Mohamed Ouzine and Djamel Kerkar will take part in the second edition of the "First Gestures, Young Mediterranean Cinema," along with their counterparts from five other countries, including Egypt, Tunisia, Netherlands, and France.
Samir in the Dust (2015), by Mohamed Ouzine, tells in 61 minutes the expectations and fears of a young Algerian who smuggles fuel on muleback through the Algerian-Moroccan border.
"Atlal," a 111-mn fiction documentary made in 2016 by Djamel Kerkar, deals with the events of the 1990s that were marked by terrorism.
Seven short films will also be screened at the event, which got this year a financial support from the Arab Funds of Culture and Arts.
