ALGIERS- Several Algerian publishing houses is to participate in the Paris Book Fair (March 24-27) and the International Book Fair of Tunis (March 24 - April 2), the director general of the National Firm of Graphic Arts, Hamidou Messaoudi, has said.
A total of 42 Algerian publishing houses will take part in the Paris book fair with 800 titles, while 39 publishers will participate in the international book fair of Tunis with 1000 titres, according to Messaoudi.
The organizers of the 37th Paris book fair, to bring together 1200 publishers from 50 countries, have scheduled many lectures and debates as well as cartoon exhibitions.
Algerian writer Kamel Daoud, Syrian historian Farouk Mardam Bey, Senegalese philosopher Souleymane Bachir Diagne and American novelist Louise Erdich are among the special guests of the literary event.
The 33th international book fair of Tunis, to be held under the theme "We Read to Live Twice," will feature more than 700 publishing houses from 29 countries, Including Syria, Sultanat of Oman, the United States, Great Britain and Algeria.
