Ketchaoua Mosque to reopen in Q3 2017

ALGIERS- The restoration works of the Mosque of Ketchaoua are due to be completed by the third quarter of 2017, announced Tuesday in Algiers Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Youcef Chorfa.
ALGIERS- The minister of Culture of Angola Carolina Cerqueira started Monday, a four-day working visit to Algeria, in which she will meet with State officials and will visit sites relating to the sector of culture in various provinces, said the ministry of Communication in a communiqué.
LAGHOUAT-So far, 6,300 artist cards have been distributed, announced Thursday in Laghouat President of the National Council of Arts (CNAL) Abdelkader Bendaemeche.

Two committees set up to organize cinema

ALGIERS-Culture Minister on Monday has set up the committee in charge of delivering cards to professionals of cinema and the committee for videograms viewing, the Ministry announced in a communiqué.
AMMAN (Jordan)- Algerian film "Good Luck Algeria", from director Farid Bentoumi was screened Saturday evening and attracted the Jordanian audience which participated in an open debate with the young director at the end of the presentation.
ALGIERS- A host of artists recognized for their contribution to the society were honoured Saturday, in Algiers, by the Islamic Cultural Centre in the presence of Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs Mohamed Aissa.
BATNA- Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi said, at the opening of the international festival of Timgad late Thursday and early Friday, that the 39th edition confirms that the festival is "the most prestigious artistic event in Algeria."
ALGIERS- Algeria will participate as a guest of honour at the 11th “Sok Okaz” of popular arts of Saudi Arabia, scheduled from 11 to 18 July in Taif, announced a communiqué of the Ministry of Culture.
AMMAN (Jordan)- Algeria takes part in the 23rd Franco Arab Film Festival which opened Wednesday, in Amman (Jordan).
ALGIERS- An exhibition of pop’art works gathering reinterpreted portraits of great historic figures of the National Liberation war was inaugurated Wednesday, in Algiers, by visual artist "El Moustache". This new exhibition called "Djamâat Ahrar" (Association of free men) is taking place until 7 July at the "Ezzou'Art" art gallery.
