The artist, who was invited by "The National Algerian Centre" (NAC), performs for the first time in the United Kingdom. He presented tales inspired from the Algerian oral legacy to an audience made up of youth and children accompanied by their parents.
PARIS- A cultural event entitled “Algeria talks about itself” was organized Saturday, in Lille, as part of the promotion of the Algerian culture, according to Algeria’s general consulate in Lille.
AMMAN- The Algerian play “Hafl Itizal," presented by the cultural association “Skamla” of Bou Ismail (Tipaza), at the 10th International Theatre Festival in Jordan, won two prizes at the wrap up of this event, marked by the participation of nine Arab countries.

ALGIERS- Symphonic music orchestra conductor Rachid Saouli died Saturday morning in Algiers of a heart attack at the age of 65, and was interred, in the afternoon, at El Alia cemetery, said the director of the National Higher Institute of Music, Abdelkader Bouazara.
ALGIERS- The African Creators Forum called on Friday in Algiers for creating legal mechanisms likely to strengthen the protection of African creators and the fight against piracy and infringements of the copyright rules.

ALGIERS-The "Miriam Makeba Prize for artistic creativity," named after South-African ethno-jazz singer who took part in the first Pan African Festival in 1969, has been established to award African creators in various arts, announced Thursday Culture Minister Azzedine Mihoubi, on the sidelines of the African Creators Forum which wraps up Friday in Algiers.
