ALGIERS- The projects of Algiers' new air terminal and the railway station to link it to Bab Ezzouar is to be delivered in July 2018, while the metro extension from El Harrach to the airport will be operational early 2020, said the minister of Public Works and Transport, Boudejmaa Talai.
During an inspection visit to the construction site, accompanied by the director general of Algiers International Airport, Tahar Allache, and the representatives of the companies involved in the projectt, the minister stressed the need to meet the deadline.
At the new Algiers air terminal's construction site, an airport extension, Allache said the works reached 56% in late January.
The total costs of the new air terminal project, stretching over a 20-hectare area, are estimated at DZD74 billion, he disclosed.
According to the minister, the financial contribution of Algiers airports' management company is valued at DZD45 billion, the rest will be paid by the Treasury.
