ALGIERS- Interest-free bonded debts are to be launched between late April and May 2017, Minister of Finance Hadji Babaammi said Monday.
"There is a project under study about a new bonded debt to be launched this year, and which will be interest-free," the minister told reporters on the sidelines of a plenary session at the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament) to discuss the bill on budgetary regulation 2014.
The duration of the bonded debt is between three and five years, and the securities will not be eligible for the stock market, as those eligible in this institution are of 7, 10 and 15 years, he added.
Without elaborating on this financial operation, the minister said the project underway will be submitted to the government.
"If the government adopts the move, we will launch (the interest-free bonded debt."
