ALGIERS- Sonatrach and the General Management of Forests (DGF) inked Saturday, in Algiers, an agreement under which the oil group will finance the purchase of more than 530,000 trees intended for a huge reforestation project through twenty provinces.
The agreement was signed by Sonatrach's Human Resources Supervisor Assia Benkherief and the General Director of Forests Abdelmalek Abdelfattah.
The oil company will finance the purchase of trees valued at DZD32 million, while the DGF will run carry out the reforestation project with the participation of the members of social groups.
Launched early 2017, the project will run until late March.
The project consists in the planting of different types of trees in national parks and dams.
The provinces concerned by the project are Chlef, Laghouat, Batna, Bejaia, Bouira, Tlemcen, Tiaret, Tizi-Ouzou, Alger Jijel, Setif, Skikda, Constantine, Mostaganem ,Oran, Boumerdes, El Tarf, Tissemsilt, Tipaza and Ain Defla.
