ALGIERS- Hassi Messaoud Airport has been shut down Wednesday following the collapse of a wheel of Air Tec LET 420-type plane chartered by Tassili Travail Aérien (a subsidiary of Tassili Airlines), Tassili Airlines and air Algerie said.
This incident occurred Wednesday morning in Hassi Messaoud Airport during takeoff.
The plane, which was chartered from the South African Company Air Tec and used for the transportation of oil company personnel was heading from Hassi Messaoud to Bir Sebaa, said Tassili Airlines (TAL).
Ten people and two crew members were aboard, said the company which reported no human casualty.
A team has been dispatched on the scene to investigate into the incident’s causes.
Following this incident, an Algiers-Hassi Messaoud flight of Air Algerie returned to Algiers because of the closing of Hassi Messaoud Airport.
