Ministry makes decisions on contractors responsible for AADL projects delay

ALGIERS- Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Abdelwahid Temmar said on Saturday that his department had decided to terminate the contracts of 3 contractors and to send formal notices to 17 others.

The minister held a meeting with the contractors in charge of the execution of the "AADL" housing programme.

Some 20 provinces are suffering delays in the construction of 38,450 units, part "AADL" programme, entrusted with 20 contractors, the minister said.

Three contractors in charge of the construction of 2550 housing units, including 809 in Tissemsilt, 400 in Ouled Zenati (in the province of Guelma) and 750 in Mascara, have had their contracts terminated.

The minister also blamed the administration for the delay noticed in the construction of some projects, like the project of 1,300 housing units in Sétif, El Oued, Sidi Bel Abbès and Remchi.

"I call on all the contractors to complete all the projects as soon as possible," he said.
