ALGIERS- Over 1,800 projects for the construction of hotels with a reception capacity of more than 240,000 beds are recorded in Algeria, including 582 hotels with 75,000 beds are under construction, said Wednesday in Algiers Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Hacène Mermouri.
ALGIERS- A total of 302,000 housing units will have been delivered in 2017, of which 169,000 by the end of August, said Wednesday Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, in response to questions of the members of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of the Parliament) during the debates on the Government's Action Plan.

Global Competitiveness Report: Algeria ranks 86th

ALGIERS- Algeria has ranked 86th in terms of competitiveness for the year 2017-2018, according to the Global Competitiveness Report published by the World Economic Forum, located in Geneva.

Algeria's gold reserves exceed US$6 billion

ALGIERS- Algeria's gold reserves are currently worth over US$6 billion, said Wednesday Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, in response to the questions of the members of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) during the debates on the Government's Action Plan.
ALGIERS-Non-conventional financing, envisaged by the Government through the amendment to the law on currency and credit, should not lead to a sharp increase in inflation because the Government's action plan comprises economic and budget reforms guaranteeing non-hydrocarbon GDP growth in the medium term, Said Maherzi, Vice-Governor of the Bank of Algeria said Tuesday in Algiers.
