AIN TEMOUCHENT (Algeria)- Algeria's agricultural production has reached DZD3,000 billion as a result of the significant resources made available by the government, the minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fishing, Abdelkader Bouazgui, said Wednesday.
ALGIERS-The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Abdelwahid Temmar announced Wednesday in Algiers that his department considered the launch of the implementation works of 330,000 housing units whose works had not already started, as part of the program to build 1,600,000 housing units including 55,000 in Algiers and 120,000 rental housing units (AADL) and other housing types.
ALGIERS-Some countries involved in the cooperation agreement between the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Non-OPEC Countries including Russia "have been called to order" Monday in Vienna during a monthly follow-up meeting, said Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni, stressing that the implementation of this agreement will be better by the next OPEC meeting in September.
ALGIERS-The rehabilitation and extension works of the refinery of Sidi R'zine (south-east of Algiers), entrusted in late 2016 to a Company, "progress well" after Sonatrach addressed various constraints, notably the lack of staff, stressed Minister of Energy Mustapha Guitouni, adding that the project will be delivered in October 2018.
ALGIERS - Algeria has been recently authorized by the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) for the establishment of three tuna fattening farms on the national territory.
ALGIERS- Algeria’s trade deficit dropped to 6.17 billion dollars in the first seven months of 2017 against a deficit of 10.61 billion dollars over the same period of 2016, a decline of 4.44 billion dollars, corresponding to a 42% downfall in deficit, Customs told APS.

ALGIERS- The Algerian economy achieved a growth rate of 3.3% in 2016 against 3.7% in 2015 and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of 3,894 dollars in 2016, the National Statistics Office (ONS) told APS.
TLEMCEN- The president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika called on the government and its social and economic partners for “the solidarity, the mobilization and the unification of ranks in order to carry out the battle for development and to preserve Algeria’s financial independence and its sovereignty at the economic level.”
ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mining, Youcef Yousfi said Saturday in Algiers that "car industry will be one of the important matters to examine."
ALGIERS- New minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City Abdelwahid Temmar took Saturday his duties, replacing Youcef Chorfa, after President Abdelaziz Bouteflika appointed members of the new government, chaired by Ahmed Ouyahia.
