ORAN (Algeria)- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal inaugurated Wednesday a plant producing injectable cephalosporin antibiotics in Oran, where he is on a working visit.
The plant producing the antibiotics, planted in Hassi Ben Okba, Oran (432-km west of Algiers), belongs to the Algerian Pharmaceutical Company (SOPHAL).
It will cut imports of the injectable cephalosporin antibiotics, which contributes in the reduction of the foreign currency bill, which is a necessity with the oil prices fall.
Estimated at two billion dollars, the project was launched in 2015.
The plant has created about 200 direct and indirect jobs.
