ALGIERS- Algeria has set up a surveillance and warning system for the prevention of Ebola fever, said Monday in Algiers, the director of prevention at the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Pr. Ismail Mesbah.
On the sidelines of a seminar marking the celebration of the World Health Day, observed every 7 April, Pr. Ismail Mesbah announced a meeting of a committee of experts at the Ministry on Wednesday and Thursday to assess the risk of Ebola virus spread in Algeria, adding that preventive measures will be strengthened to avert this deadly epidemic.
The Ministry of Health is about to finalize the necessary measures to prevent this disease, he said, adding that the risk of having Ebola virus in Algeria is "very minimal."
Pr Messbah also underlined that Algeria is making daily efforts to ensure compliance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization regarding this epidemic.
