TIPASA- The Broadcasting Regulatory Authority (ARAV) has adopted the terms of reference set by the Government, announced Monday in Tipasa (70-km west of Algiers) Minister of Communication Hamid Grine.

"The Broadcasting Regulatory Authority (ARAV) held its first meeting on Thursday and adopted the terms of reference set by the Government after debate," Grine told the radio station of Tipasa during his working visit to the province.

ARAV's meeting, which was chaired by its president Zouaoui Benhamadi, was devoted mainly to its future action plan.

ARAV was created following the adoption of the Law on Broadcasting in 2014 with the aim of regulating the sector in Algeria and strengthening the mission of public service.

The members of the Broadcasting Regulatory Authority were installed by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on 20 June.

ARAV is made up of nine members appointed by presidential decree: five members, including the president, appointed by the President of the Republic, two non-parliamentary members, suggested by the speaker of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) and two non-parliamentary members, suggested by the speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament).

ALGIERS- The first experimental programmes were recorded Wednesday, in Algiers, as part of the partnership agreement between the Algerian news agency APS and the Continuing Education University (UFC) in the audiovisual production.

The themes of these programmes were about education and advanced technologies and the introduction of a master’s degree at a distance, a project announced by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Tahar Hadjar.

The recording sessions took place in the presence of Director General of APS Abdelhamid Kacha, Secretary General of UFC  Brahim Boukraa as well as technicians and journalists from APS and UFC.

APS and UFC signed Tuesday, in Algiers, a partnership agreement in broadcasting and according to which APS can use the adjusted headquarters of UFC’s channel against the mobilization of its human resources in terms of broadcasting production in favour of UFC to provide its students with training courses in this field.

APS will be able to use the audiovisual studios of UFC, located in the University, for the production and broadcasting of the audiovisual contents.

ALGIERS- The Algerian news agency APS and the Continuing Education University (UFC) signed Tuesday in Algiers a partnership agreement in the field of broadcasting.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of APS Abdelhamid Kacha and the Chief Education Officer of UFC Djamel Houd Mouissa, in the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Tahar Hadjar and Minister of Communication Hamid Grine.

The agreement is about APS’ right to use the adjusted headquarters of UFC’s channel against the mobilization of its human resources in terms of broadcasting production in favour of UFC to provide its students with training courses in this field.

APS will be able to use the audiovisual studios of UFC, located in the University, for the production and broadcasting of the audiovisual contents.

Speaking on this occasion, Hadjar underlined that the signing of this agreement “is part of the comprehensive strategy adopted by Higher Education Ministry for years, through the encouragement of Algerian universities to contribute to the national development while ensuring the support and assistance to all the sectors in the fields of scientific research, training and partnership.”

For his part, Minister of Communication welcomed the inking of the agreement between the “two old institutions,” underlining that the sector of information “requires positive values and the citizens need reliable and credible information.”

For his part, Kacha said that this agreement is “an example, par excellence, of a win-win partnership which deserves to be encouraged in this difficult financial situation which requires from everyone, notably the public institutions, the resort to this kind of partnerships to optimize the financial resources and create joint actions so that to make achievements that serve society at lower costs.”
