Algerian Alcomsat-1 launched successfully into orbit from China

XICHANG (China) – The Algerian satellite Alcomsat-1 has been launched successfully into orbit on Sunday afternoon by the Chinese Long March 3B rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre, in Sichuan Province (2,200Km southwest of Beijing).

Alcomsat-1, with the Algerian flag painted on it, was launched into orbit at 5.40 p.m. (GMT+1), by the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL), in partnership with China.

The Algerian satellite is dedicated to telecommunications, broadcasting and Internet.

 

The exploitation and control of the Algerian satellite will be carried out by ASAL engineers from the telecommunications system exploitation centres of Boughezoul (Medea) and Bouchaoui (Algiers).
