11th Algerian-Vietnamese joint commission on 20-21 March in Algiers

ALGIERS- The 11th Algerian-Vietnamese joint commission will be held on 20-21 March in Algiers, said Sunday a communiqué of Ministry of Industry and Mining.

In this regard, Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam Bouchouareb held talks with the ambassador of Vietnam to Algeria Pham Quoc Tru on “the progress in the preparations for the holding of this commission,” said the communiqué.

An Algerian-Vietnamese business forum is also scheduled in parallel with the works of the joint commission, according to the source.

 

 

Algeria-Chile: Business, investment opportunities main focus of seminar in Santiago

ALGIERS- A delegation of Algerian economic operators from various sectors participated Monday, in Santiago (Chile), in a seminar on the business and investment opportunities in Algeria and Chile, said Wednesday a communiqué of Foreign Affairs Ministry.

During this economic meeting, in which the Algerian delegation was led by Issiakhem Arezki, president of Algeria-Chile business council, presentations were made on “the two economies’ potentials in investment and trading,” said the source.

This seminar focused particularly on the business and investment opportunities existing between two countries, adds the ministry, noting that business to business meetings (B to B) allowed “broaching the real possibilities to anticipate partnership and investment actions.”

Algeria-Chile Business Council was created in the 4th session of the bilateral political discussions held in Algiers in November 2015, according to the source.

Hungarian experts, businessmen on visit to Algeria in September

TISSEMSILT- Hungaria's Ambassador to Algeria Helga Katalin Pritz announced, Tuesday in Tissemsilt, the visit of Hungarian experts and businessmen to Algeria in September, with a view to strengthening economic partnership.

The visit is part of the bilateral cooperation aiming at exchanging experience between Hungarian experts and businessmen and their Algerian counteracts, Pritz told a press briefing held on sidelines of her visit to the province.

She also expressed the great interest showed by Hungarian businessmen in investment in Algeria, especially in the fields of tourism and wastewater treatment.

The Hungarian ambassador said that cooperation between Algeria and her country has yielded positive results in various economic fields, including agriculture, hydraulics, tourism and health.

She added that there were discussions between the Algerian and Hungarian governments on the exchange of experience in the field of tourism.

Lower House: Consideration of 18 amendments to bill on SMEs development

ALGIERS- The People's National Assembly (APN) Committee on Economic Affairs, Development, Trade, Industry and Planning discussed Wednesday in plenary session 18 amendments to the bill on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The meeting which took place in the presence of the representatives of the authors of the amendments was chaired by the President of the Committee Mohamed Boukhras.

Khebri, Saudi Ambassador discuss energy cooperation

ALGIERS-Minister of Energy Salah Khebri discussed Thursday with Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Algiers Sami Ben Abdellah Essalah development perspectives of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and the situation of the oil market.

According to the ministry, talks focused on "the development of cooperation relations between Algeria and Saudi Arabia in the fields of hydrocarbons, petrochemistry and refining."

Khebri stressed that investment and partnership opportunities offered by the Algerian energy sector, the ministry stated, adding that both officials agreed to exchange ministerial visits to deepen discussions.

The Energy Minister and the Algerian diplomat broached the upcoming meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to be held 2 June and the situation of the international oil market, the communiqué said. 

Babaammi, Polish Under-Secretary of State for Finance

ALGIERS- Minister of Finance, Hadji Babaammi, on Monday received Piotr Nowak Polish Undersecretary of State at Ministry for Finance, said the ministry in a release.

During the meeting, the Finance minister and Nowak examined the various topics of common interest and broached the economic and financial relations between Algeria and Poland as well as the means to boot cooperation between the two countries, the same source added.

In this regard, the two countries have underlined the importance of the historical links that exist between the two countries and agreed to work to deepen the cooperation between Algeria and Poland.

Khebri in Jordan to partake in International Energy Summit

ALGIERS- Minister of Energy Salah Khebri pays a visit to Amman from 15 to 18 May, as part of strengthening energy cooperation between Algeria and Jordan and the holding of the International Energy Summit, said Saturday the ministry said in a statement.

During his visit to the Jordanian capital, the minister, who will be accompanied by a large delegation, will hold talks with his Jordanian counterpart, on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Algeria and Jordan in the field of energy, the source said.

In addition, Khebri will take part in the works of the 2nd International Energy Summit, scheduled from May 16 to 17 in Amman.

International Transport and Logistics Exhibition from 21 to 24 November in Algiers

ALGIERS- The 1st International Transport and Logistics Exhibition (Logistical) will take place from 21 to 24 November at the Exhibition Centre, in Algiers, with the participation of more than 50 national and foreign exhibitors.

This economic event, devoted to the logistic chain, cargo and freight transportation, will see the participation of five exhibitors from France and Germany, said the event’s organizers in a press conference held Wednesday in Algiers.

“This exhibition will bring together different contributors in the logistics to improve the activity of companies working in the transport of goods,” said Saadane Kaderi, secretary general of the Algerian Chamber of Trade and Industry (CACI) which organizes the exhibition in partnership with SAFEX and CACI-France under the theme “For the control of logistic costs.”

 

 

 

 

Tagabou, ILO delegation discuss entrepreneurship cooperation prospects

ALGIERS-Deputy Minister in charge of Craft Industry Aicha Tagabou discussed with a delegation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) cooperation prospects in the field of entrepreneurship.

Both parties "discussed cooperation prospects for the promotion of craftsmen entrepreneurship, mainly craftswomen, who benefit from State's support part of President of the Republic's program."

Tagabou also assessed with representatives of the ILO cooperation between the craft industry sector and the ILO's office in Algiers, particularly entrepreneurship promotion.    

Both parties also agreed to set up a working group to examine cooperation projects in training and collective work promotion as part of domestic production systems. 

Bouchouareb holds discussions with India's minister of Chemical and Fertilizers

ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam Bouchouareb has held discussions, Tuesday in the official residence in Zeralda (Algiers), with India's Minister of State, Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Mansukh L. Mandaviya.

The discussions were part of the three-day official visit of India's Vice President Mohamad Hamid Ansari to Algeria.

Talai receives delegation of China Development Bank

ALGIERS- Minister of Transport Boudjema Talai has received, Sunday in Algiers, a delegation of China Development Bank (CDB), said Monday the Ministry in a statement

The delegation was led by the CDB's Director of Cooperation Wu Guohua.

During the discussions, "the minister listened to the proposals made by the bank delegation for the financing of projects in the sector of transport in Algeria," said the statement.

The CDB, based in Beijing, is a Chinese public bank specialized in infrastructure projects.

Agriculture: Chelghoum on working visit to Tunis Tuesday

ALGIERS – Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Abdesselam Chelghoum will pay on Tuesday a working visit to Tunisia, said the ministry in a release.

He will inaugurate with his Tunisian counterpart the 12th International Show of Agricultural investment and Technology.

During this two-day visit, Chelghoum will be received by Tunisian Premier Youssef Chahed, the release added.

He is planned to hold talk with Tunisian counterpart Samir El Taib, to examine "the ways and means to reinforce cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture and fishing," the same source added.

Chelghoum and the Tunisian Minister of Agriculture will inaugurate on Wednesday the 12th International Exhibition of Agricultural Investment and Technology (SIAT 2016) which will be held from October 19 to 22 at the Exhibition Centre of Kram (Tunis).

Algeria is guest of honor of this event.

Tassili Airlines to open new weekly route Algiers-Nantes-Algiers

ALGIERS- Tassili Airlines will open new weekly route Algiers-Nantes-Algiers from 3rd June, said Wednesday National Company in a communiqué.

 Tassili Airlines said that this new international flight, to be scheduled every Friday "is part of a commercial programme to ensure connection with the part of France, where lives the largest part of the Algerian community."

According to the same source, this is 5th regular international flight inaugurated after Marseille and Strasbourg in November 2014, Lyon in July 2015 and Paris in December 2015.

A promotional pricing will be applied to round-trip tickets with fares from DZD24,857 dinars (221 Euros).

Industry: Bouchouareb receives delegation of Chinese group CSCEC

ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam has received, Sunday in Algiers, a delegation of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and led by its vice president Zheng Xuexuan, said a Ministry's statement.

During the discussions, Zheng Xuexuan expressed "the group's interest in the diversification of its activities in Algeria, especially in the building material industry," said the statement.

He also underlined its readiness to work for the transfer of expertise of its company in other areas and for building partnerships with Algerian operators, added the Ministry's statement.

 

Khebri, Kazakh deputy FM discuss energy cooperation

ALGIERS- Minister of Energy Salah Khebri has received Wednesday in Algiers Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mussinov, said the ministry in a statement.

The two sides focused mainly on the strengthening of cooperation between Algeria and Kazakhstan in the field of energy, particularly hydrocarbons, added the statement.

They also discussed the current situation in the international oil market, added the statement.

 

Sellal receives Saudi deputy oil minister

ALGIERS- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal has received, Tuesday at the International Centre of Conferences, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Petroleum, Industry and Mineral Resources Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, said the Prime Minsiter Offfice in a statement.

"The audience, held on the sidelines of the 15th Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Forum, allowed examining bilateral cooperation, especially in economic sectors," said the statement.

The two sides underlined the need to boost cooperation the soonest possible, given the "excellent" relations between the two countries, added the statement.

They also exchanged views on the oil market situation.

The audience was attended by Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam Bouchouareb.

 

49th International Fair of Algiers from 28 May to 2 June 2016

ALGIERS- The 49th International Fair of Algiers (FIA) will be held from 28 May to 2 June 2016 at the Exhibition Centre (Pins Maritimes), said Tuesday the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX).

The previous edition of this economic and commercial event, organized from 27 May to 1 June 2015, was marked by the participation of 1,385 companies, including 742 foreign companies from about 30 countries.

The main economic sectors represented in the previous FIA were food-processing industry, energy, chemistry and petrochemistry, electricity and electronics, textile, public works and building materials, mechanics, steel industry and metallurgical industry as well as furniture business and decoration.

Boutarfa on working visit to Iran, Qatar

ALGIERS-Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa will be on working visits to Iran and Qatar from 2 to 6 September, the ministry announced Thursday in a communiqué.

Boutarfa will be accompanied by an important delegation and will "hold talks with his Iranian and Qatari counterparts on energy cooperation between Algeria and these countries," the same source stated. 

Algerian parliamentary delegation received by Cuban vice minister of Agriculture

ALGIERS- The delegation of the National People's Assembly (APN) Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and the community, on a working visit to Cuba, was received in Havana by Cuban Vice Minister of agriculture, José Miguel Rodriguez de Armas.

The meeting allowed both parties to discuss the state of relations between the two countries and the areas of bilateral cooperation, including agriculture and veterinary medicine, which will be examined deeply during the work of the next session of the Algerian-Cuban Joint Commission, said Tuesday a statement of the Lower House.

Furthermore, members of the delegation led by the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and the community, Noureddine Belmeddah, attended the opening ceremony of the conference on the Cuban philosopher José Marti.

Boutarfa holds talks with special representative of UN Secretary General for Mali

ALGIERS- Minister of Energy Noureddine Boutarfa received Thursday, in Algiers, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Mali, head of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) Mahamat Saleh Annadif, said a communiqué of the Energy Ministry.

“The talks focused on the review of ways of cooperation between MINUSMA and the sector’s companies, “said the source.

Cagex, elected member of Executive Council of Arab Insurers Organization

 ALGIERS – Algerian Company in Insurance and export guarantee (Cagex) has been elected as member of the Executive Council Organization of Arab and Islamic Insurers "Aman Union," announced Monday this public insurance company.

The election was conducted during the Council’s General Assembly in Mascate (Oman), held last December.

Composed of 18 members, the Organization of the Arab and Islamic credit insurers was created in 2010 to consolidate and strengthen relations of cooperation between its members.

Cagex, which became a member of this organization since its creation, "managed to forge beneficial relations between the external trade operators of the concerned countries in the field of re-insurance, commercial information and recovery of debts both in Algeria for the member companies and in the concerned countries in the benefit of the CAGEX and the Algerian exporters," the company said in a communiqué.
