ALGIERS- African Gymnastics Union will hold a meeting on the sidelines of African Gymnastics Championships (juniors / seniors), to take place in Algiers from 23 to 26 March, said its president, Algerian Sid Ali Zaater.
"This meeting will be an opportunity to present our action plan until 2024, as well as new projects that will be presented at the next meeting of the International Gymnastics Federation in Japan," Zaater told a press conference, held Sunday at July 5th Stadium.
He said that the big nations "get always the lion's share and leave almost nothing to emerging countries," adding that "this should change positively in the future."
To that end, the emerging countries, especially Africans, have won a first victory by making of the African Gymnastic Championships a qualifying tournament to the Olympic Games as from 2020.
