TLEMCEN - Experts from South Korea Marin Institute have visited the aquaculture farm "AQUADORA" in the Agla beach in Honaine (Tlemcen), said Thursday the fisheries directorate in communiqué.
This visit, conducted as part of the Algerian-Korean programme of Aquaculture Development allowed the Korean experts to get acquainted with the management methods of this new fish breeding farm in floating cages in sea.
The members of the delegation, accompanied by officials from the Fisheries Ministry and the National Centre of Research and Aquaculture Development received explanations about the breeding methods used in the farm which annually produces 600 tonnes of wolffish and gilthead bream.
Over 1.70 million juvenile fish were put to repopulate five floating cages, out of the 12 cages planned in this 20 hectare farm.
The private farm created 14 permanent jobs and 42 seasonal ones.
