Fifteen would-be-immigrants rescued by Coastguards off El Kala

ALGIERS- Fifteen would-be immigrants, aboard a drifting boat, were rescued by the coastguards 7 miles northeast of Cape Rosa, in El Kala, said Monday the Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.

"A Navy search and rescue helicopter spotted a drifting boat with fifteen illegal immigrants aboard seven mile northeast of Cape Rosa in El Kala (5th Military Region). An operation was launched by a floating coastguards unit to rescue fourteen of them and carry them to the port of Annaba, while the person who remained on the boat was rescued by the helicopter to Annaba platform," said the communiqué.

The fifteen would-be immigrants set sail on 22 November 2017, added the source.
