ORAN- Fifteen illegal emigrants were intercepted early on Monday 4 miles off Cape Falcon, Ain El Turck, the province of Oran (431-km west of Algiers) by local Coastguards units, said the security body.
The would-be immigrants, including six Algerians and nine African nationals, set sail from Ain El Turck aboard an inflatable boat in a bid to reach the Spanish coasts, said the source.
Three women and two girls, aged 7 years and 5 months, were among the arrested African would-be immigrants, added the source.
The fifteen illegal emigrants have been sent to the National Gendarmerie.
MOSTAGANEM (Algeria)- The units of the border guards intercepted in the night of Friday to Saturday, off Mostaganem, eleven (11) would-be immigrants, including a minor, said security sources.
These would-be immigrants, who embarked from Cape Ivy beach, in the town of Ben Abdelmalek Ramdane (28-km East of Mostaganem), aboard an engine dinghy were intercepted by the Border guards, 6 miles from this beach.
The eleven people, from Sidi Lakhdar (50-km East of Mostaganem), underwent medical exams before being sent to the National Gendarmerie units to bring them before court.
ORAN- Seventy would be immigrants were rescued Tuesday morning off Oran by units of the western command of Naval Forces of the 2nd Military Region, said the regional command in a communiqué.
The rescued people, including ten minors, two nationals from Burkina Faso and one from Cameroon, were aboard three inflatable dinghies, which suffered engine failure about 6 miles north of Kristel (Oran, 431-km west of Algiers), said the source.
The rescue operation was launched as soon as the alert was given by the regional command of the Coastguards of Oran, said the communiqué.
ANNABA (Algeria)- Sixteen illegal immigrants were intercepted Sunday 15 miles northeast of Ras El Hamra, Annaba (600-km east of Algiers), and brought before the court for illegal immigration attempt, a legal source said.
The arrested people, from the province of Annaba, are aged between 17 and 43 years old (including two minors).
They put out to sea from Oued Begrat Beach, aboard a makeshift boat in a bid to join the Mediterranean northern shore.
A total of 307 would-be immigrants have been intercepted off Annaba coast, in similar circumstances, since the beginning of 2015.
ANNABA – Eleven would-be immigrants were intercepted Monday morning by a coastguard patrol 15 miles off Ras El Hamra (Annaba, 600-km east of Algiers), said the regional command of Coastguards.
The illegal migrants, aged between 18 and 32, are all from the eastern province of Annaba. They set sail aboard a makeshift boat from Ras el Hamra early on Monday in an attempt to reach the European coasts, said the source.
They have been brought before the state prosecutor to Annaba court after they underwent medical examinations, said the source.
Thirteen other "harragas (illegal immigrants) were intercepted in similar conditions a week ago, added the source.
A total of 185 would-be immigrants were arrested off Annaba coasts since the beginning of the year.

These "harragas" (illegal immigrants), who set sail aboard a makeshift boat from Jouanoville beach in an attempt to reach the northern shore of the Mediterranean, were intercepted at 4 a.m. by a Coastguard patrol, said the source.
The would-be immigrants, all from the eastern province of Annaba, have been brought before the state prosecutor to Annaba court as soon as they underwent medical examinations, added the source.
A total of 174 would-be immigrants have been arrested since the beginning of the year.
ANNABA (Algeria)- Twelve young people trying to illegally emigrate by crossing the Mediterranean aboard a makeshift boat were intercepted Monday morning by a coastguard patrol, sources from the coastguard department in this area have disclosed.
The would-be immigrants, aged between 19 and 24 years old, and all of whom from Annaba, put out to sea at about 2:00 (local time) at El Chatt beach, in the neighbouring province of El Tarf, the source said.
They were intercepted around 13 miles off Ras El Hamra, Annaba, at 4:00 (local time).
The twelve people underwent medical examinations before being presented to the public prosecutor near the court of Annaba, for illegal emigration attempt, the source underlined.
At least 125 would-be immigrants have been intercepted off Annaba coast, in similar conditions, since the beginning of 2015.
ALGIERS- Nine Nigerian and Ivorian would-be immigrants, coming from Libya, were arrested in Djanet (Illizi, 2000km south of Algiers) by a detachment of the People's National Army (ANP), said Sunday the Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.
"As part of the measures for the strengthening of security at borders and the fight against smuggling and illegal migration, , a detachment of the national Army of the 4th Military Region arrested, while on patrol on the road linking the city of Djanet to the border locality of Tin Elkom (Illizi) on 11 October 2014 at 4 p.m., nine would-be immigrants, including seven Nigerians and two Ivorians coming from Libya," said the communiqué.
"During an ambush near the village of Mereksane, in the commune of Debdeb (Illizi) on 10 October 2014 at 12.45 a.m., another detachment of the Army seized an all-terrain vehicle, an automatic gun, a riffle magazine and a quantity of ammunition," said the communiqué.
