ALGIERS-Detachments of the People’s National Army (ANP) on Tuesday intervened in many regions like Sidi Bel Abbes and Tlemcen, to reopen roads cut off by snow and give assistance to the population, announced the National Defence Ministry in a statement.

Snow covers desert regions, south of Naama

NAAMA – Snow has fallen and covered for a short period of time the sand dunes of the Sidi Boudjemâa Tourist Complex in Ain Sefra commune, south of the province of Naama.

ALGIERS- An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale hit the province of Skikda (510km east of Algiers) Friday at 3:33 p.m., said the National Centre for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG) in a communiqué.
 ANNABA- A total of 272 nationals from Niger, including 30 women and 86 minors, in an irregular situation, were escorted Thursday from Annaba to the transit centre of Tamanrasset as part of an operation coordinated between the authorities of Algeria and Niger, said the head of the local section of the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) Abdelhamid Bouzid.
