ORAN (Algeria) - Associations from 14 Algerian coastal cities are invited to submit projects on the environmental integration and education, as part of Algerian-Belgian cooperation, its initiators announced Tuesday.
This initiative called "Environmental Capacity Building Project" (PRCDE) will be supervised by the Algerian Ministry of Water Resources and Environment and the Belgian Development Agency, BTC Algeria, said Feriel Assia Selhab, in charge of the project (PRCDE) at the BTC Algeria.
In the margin of a conference on the project held Tuesday in Oran, the official explained that 14 Algerian coastal cities, namely Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Tipaza, Chlef, Mostaganem, Oran, Ain Temouchent and Tlemcen are invited to submit projects in the field of environment integration and environmental education.
This initiative is intended to encourage such associations to work for best control of the environmental stakes and campaign for the integration of environment issues into local policies, she said.
30 projects will be chosen and later be turned into pilot projects on the environment protection and the promotion for sustainable development.
