ALGIERS- National Centre for Prevention and Road Safety announced Thursday that 1900 road traffic accidents, killing 244 people and injuring 2 605 others, have been recorded last January.
Compared with January 2016, there is a fall in the number of accidents by 27.16% and injured by 29.67%, the Centre said.
The center disclosed that more than 8,800 holder of driving licence delivered less than two years ago was behind 30.69 road accidents in 2016.
A total of 43.29% of the killed and 48.02% of the injured in the raod accident in 2016 are aged between 20 and 39 years old.
Human factor remains the main cause of those accidents with 96% of them were the result of speeding and violation of road signs.
