ITF junior tournament: Two Algerians in 2nd round

ALGIERS- Algerian tennis players Lynda Benkaddour and Houria Boukholda qualified Tuesday for the second round of the Mehdi-Bouras international tournament (grade 4), an ITF junior circuit event being held in Hydra Tennis Club in Algiers.
BEJAIA (Algeria)- An international women's futsal tournament organized by CF Akbou club started Tuesday in the sports hall of Akbou, Bejaia (263-km east of Algiers) in which ten countries are competing, including Algeria.
MADRID (Spain)- Algerian tennis player Ines Ibbou has qualified Tuesday for the second round of Palmanova Calvia tournament in Spain by beating Spanish Rosa Vinces Mas (6-1, 6-2).
SMARA (Sahrawi refugee camps)- More than 400 Sahrawi and foreign runners from over 20 countries are participating in the 18th edition of Western Sahara Marathon, which kicked off Monday under the slogan "42 kilometres for 42 years of sacrifices."
ALGIERS- A total of 400 athletes (men/women) are in the pre-list of the Algerian athletes likely to participate in the next Mediterranean Games, scheduled from 22 June to 1 July 2018 in Tarragona, announced Monday, in Algiers, Hassiba Boulmerka, head of mission of the national delegation in Spain.
KAMPALA- Algeria's Lynda Mazri and Halla Bouskani won a bronze medal in women's double at the International Badminton Tournament (men and women), held in Kampala, Uganda, from 22 to 25 February.
ALGIERS- ITF Mehdi-Bouras International Junior Tennis Tournament (grade 4) kicked off at Hydra Tennis Club in Algiers, with the participation of 113 players, including 53 girls, from 31 countries.
 GHARDAIA – Algerian pugilist Ilyas Abbadi beat Saturday at the sports hall in the province of Ghardaia (600-km south of Algiers), France's Anthony Brand, during a professional fight in the super middleweight category.
MADRID- The participants in the 18th Western Sahara Marathon on 26 February will run 42 kilometres, which recall the 42 years of exile of the Sahrawi people, said the organizers.
ALGIERS- The Greek Kastrantas Charalampos of the Serbian team Java Partizan won Friday the 15th International Cycling Grand Prix of Algiers after dominating the fourth and last stage.
