BRUSSELS-The Polisario Front has expressed to the European Commission its "deep concern" over the negotiations between the EU and Morocco aiming at include products from the occupied Western Sahara in the trade agreements, without the approval of the Sahrawi people, said Friday Sahrawi Minister Delegate to Europe, Mohamed Sidati.
SHAHID EL-HAFED (Sahrawi refugee camps)-The Sahrawi government hailed the decision of the African Union (AU) Summit calling the two parties to the conflict in Western Sahara (Morocco and the Polisario Front) to engage in direct talks. The government reiterated its willingness to re-open negotiations with Morocco to reach just and sustainable peace, said the a communiqué released after the meeting of the permanent Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Polisario Front, chaired by Ibrahim Ghali, President of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front.
AGHMINIT (Liberated Saharawi Territories)- Defence Minister of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Abdallah Lahbib said Monday, in the liberated town of Aghminit, that the Saharawi Army "cannot be confined forever to a refugee status."
DOUKJ (Liberated Saharawi Territories)- Defence Minister of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Abdallah Lahbib Bilal has reaffirmed the commitment of Saharawi People's Liberation Army to its constitutional missions, consisting mainly in the protection of the freed territories, the fight against organized crime and the establishment of national sovereignty over all SADR's territory, saying all units are ready to fulfil their missions, Saharawi news agency SPS reported.
PARIS (France)- Saharawi Minister of the Occupied Territories and Diaspora Mohamed Ouali Akeik on Tuesday demanded that Morocco stop trying Saharawi activists for their political views, using confessions obtained under torture.
Aousserd Camps- The president of Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and the secretary-general of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on Friday warned against "any unilateral approach" that does not take into consideration the realities of Western Sahara conflict, adding that such an attitude "will not serve peace and cooperation in North Africa and the southern Mediterranean."
CHAHID EL-HAFEDH- The National Secretariat of Polisario Front expressed satisfaction et the climate of confidence and cooperation that marked the African Union-European Union Summit, held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, on 29 and 30 November, said the Sahrawi news agency SPS.
ALGIERS- Deputy speaker of the People's National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), Djamel Bouras, renewed, at the Saharawi refugee camps on Tuesday, "Algeria's unconditional support" to Western Sahara people's struggle to restore their freedom and achieve their self-termination.
CHAHID EL HAFEDH (Saharawi Refugee Camp)- President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Brahim Ghali on Monday expressed satisfaction with the position of SADR within the African Union (AU), greeting the Union's "firm" position in favour of the strict respect of its constitution and founding principles.
NOUAKCHOTT (Mauritania)- The minister of State, adviser at the Saharawi presidency and member of Polisario Front's national secretariat, Bechir Mustapha Sayed, praised Sunday the level of cooperation between Mauritania and the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), expressing the determination of the two sides to boost coordination in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime which, he stressed, are real threats to the region.
