NEW YORK (United States)- Decolonization of Western Sahara is an "urgent and crucial issue" for the region's stability, Algeria's ambassador and permanent representative at the United Nations, Sabri Boukadoum said, adding that there is no alternative to the respect of Western Sahara's right to self-determination.

Trial of Gdeim Izik prisoners, unfair

LONDON- The trial of the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik group was unfair and politically motivated, said two international observers in their reports, adding that the confessions made by the defendants were obtained under torture.
ALGIERS- Sahrawi Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Salem Ould Salek reaffirmed Wednesday, in Algiers, the “sincere” willingness of the Sahrawi leaders to cooperate with the United Nations (UN) and its mission in Western Sahara for the decolonization of the occupied Sahrawi territories, on the basis of the agreement of 1991, welcoming the expected visit to Western Sahara of the personal envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for Western Sahara Horst Kohler.

No AU-EU Summit in Abidjan without SADR

ALGIERS- The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) will be present at the African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Summit, to take place in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on 29 and 30 November, in the same way as all AU Member States, otherwise there will be no AU-EU Summit, said Wednesday in Algiers Sahrawi Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek.
