NEW YORK-The Polisario Front reiterated its support to the United Nations Secretary General Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Envoy Horst Kohler and urged the Security Council “to contribute to the revival of peace process in Western Sahara.”
NEW YORK-A Polisario Front delegation including Mhamed Khadad, Sahrawi coordinator with the Minurso and Ahmed Boukhari, representative in New York, on Tuesday held talks with the United Nations Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler.
ALGIERS- The United Nations Special Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salamé said he is optimistic with the “peaceful and constructive consultations on Libya’s future,” just days before the announcement of the position of the Libyan Chamber of representatives (Parliament) on the latest amended version of the political agreement in conformity with the road map proposed by the UN mission, which urged the Libyan parties to put an end to violence and not resort to provocative speech.”
CHAHID EL HAFEDH- Sahrawi Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Salem Ould Salek called on Morocco to respect its internationally recognized borders and deal with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and neighbouring countries in mutual respect.
RABAT (Morocco)- At least 17 people, most of them women, have been killed and 38 injured in a stampede during the distribution of food aid in the Essaouira, Morocco's west, on Sunday, Moroccan media reported, citing official sources.
MOSCOW- Human rights violations committed by the Moroccan occupying forces in Western Sahara were denounced in a conference organized Friday, in Moscow, jointly by the representation of the Polisario Front in the Russian capital and that of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Russia.
CAIRO- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel and his counterparts of Egypt Sameh Choukri and of Tunisia Khemaies Jihnaoui reiterated Wednesday, in Cairo, the consistent positions of their countries and the principles guiding their joint action to support the efforts aimed at resolving the Libyan crisis, reaffirming their commitment to dialogue and the political agreement as the only way to end the crisis in Libya.
MOSCOW- The Sahrawi people are “determined to continue their struggle for their independence, if the Moroccan occupying forces continue flouting the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council which affirm the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination,” said Wednesday, in Moscow, the Polisario Front’s representative to Russia.
CHAHID EL-HAFED (Sahrawi Refugee Camps)- The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front renewed the Sahrawi party’s willingness to cooperate with international efforts aimed at the decolonization of Western Sahara, Africa’s last colony, in accordance with the Charter and Resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union.
CHAHID EL HAFEDH (Sahrawi refugee camps)- The Sahrawi issue at the level of the United Nations (UN) and the role of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) were broached by the Sahrawi President and Secretary of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali and special envoy of UN Secretary General to Western Sahara and head of UN mission Kim Bolduc, said the Sahrawi news agency SPS.
