DHAHRAN (Saudi Arabia)- Speaker of the Council of the Nation Abdelkader Bensalah called Sunday in Dhahran (Saudi Arabia) to consolidate efforts to support the Palestinian people in their struggle, calling on the international community to assume its full responsibility “in order to exert pressure on the Israeli occupier and bring it to end its violations against the Palestinian people and to comply with the legality and decisions of the international legitimacy as well as the principles of international law.”
DHAHRAN (Saudi Arabia)- The speakers at 29th Arab Summit stressed the need, on Sunday in Dhahran (Saudi Arabia), to promote comprehensive peace and make peoples' interest prevail in the resolution of crises in the Arab region.
BRUSSELS- The Sahrawi community in Belgium organized Friday afternoon a rally in Brussels to alert the European Union (EU) to the “critical” situation of the Sahrawi prisoners of Gdeim Izik group, detained in Morocco, and demand their release.
MOSCOW- Russia expressed support for the mediatory efforts of the UN aiming the settlement of Western Sahara dispute, underlining that “there are no alternatives to a political settlement of the Western Sahara problem in line with corresponding UN Security Council resolutions.”
BRUSSELS- President of the European Coordinating Conference of Support to the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) Pierre Galand paid Tuesday tribute to the “exemplary struggle” of the Sahrawi people for the respect of their fundamental rights and permanent sovereignty over their natural resources.
SMARA (Sahrawi refugee camps)- Polisario Front's representative to the United Nations, activist Ahmed Boukhari was laid to rest in the cemetery of Smara.
CHAHID EL-HAFEDH- The president of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), secretary general of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, has received a message of condolence from the secretary general of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in which he offered him his sincere condolences on the death of Saharawi diplomat Ahmed Boukhari, and reiterated UN's commitment to reaching a political solution that guarantees Western Sahara people's inalienable right to self-determination.
GAZA- Five Palestinians have been killed and some 400 were wounded in Gaza by gunshots and tear gas fired by soldiers of the Israeli occupation Army, a week after the bloodiest day since the 2014 Israeli offensive on besieged enclave.
BIR LAHLOU (Liberated Saharawi Territories)- The Polisario Front has taken note with satisfaction of the report on Western Sahara the United Nations Secretary-General has submitted to the Security Council late March, reiterating commitment to the peace process and support to the UN efforts to reach a peaceful solution that provides for the self-determination to the Saharawi people.
PARIS- The lives of the five Sahrawi prisoners, after 27 days of unlimited hunger strike in Moroccan prisons, "are in danger," warned the Association of Friends of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (AA-RASD), urging Morocco to abide by the international humanitarian law.
